Colubris Networks named a Red Herring 100 company

Colubris Networks, a pioneer of intelligent, multiservice WLAN systems, today announced that it has been named one of the Red Herring 100 Private Companies of North America – embodying innovation, technology and strategy. Colubris’ President and CEO, Barry Fougere, is presenting at the Red Herring Spring conference, May 17-19 in Monterey, California, where the company will be honored along with other Red Herring 100 winners.  Colubris wireless equipment will be deployed at the conference to provide wireless access for attendees, media and staff during the event.

Red Herring’s editorial staff rigorously evaluated more than 900 private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development.

“Five years after the dot-com bubble burst, innovation and entrepreneurship are thriving. The companies on this list are proof,” said Red Herring Editor-in-Chief, Joel Dreyfuss.

With 1000+ customers worldwide, partnerships with Juniper, ADC and Alcatel, an expanding product family, growing market share and recent infusion of funding from blue-chip investors, Colubris is well positioned to drive the transition to the next generation of Unified WLAN architecture and technology.

Having successfully completed a rigorous selection process which is weighted to reflect the reality of survival in today’s challenging marketplace, Colubris Networks is recognized by Red Herring editors as highly qualified to make a lasting impact on the industry.

“This is an honor for the entire Colubris team, as Red Herring is one of the most influential names in both the global business and high-tech communities,” said Fougere. “It’s gratifying for Colubris to be recognized along with such pioneers as Google, IBM and Adobe – as one the ‘best of the best’.”

Red Herring’s lists of private companies are an important part of the magazine’s tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google and eBay were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors as those that would change the way we live and work.
