Ember Corporation, a leading provider of low-power, wireless mesh networking technology, announced that CEO Robert LeFort has been named a 2010 Mass High Tech All-Star. The 15th Annual All-Star awards program recognizes leaders in New England’s technology, business and innovation sectors. Honorees were selected from over 200 nominations.
According to Mass High Tech Editor James Connolly, Robert LeFort was chosen for his work in making Ember a ZigBee-technology leader, along with the company’s efforts helping consumers, businesses and utilities better manage energy resources.
“We have watched over the past few years how Robert LeFort and Ember have established themselves as leaders within the ZigBee initiative,” he said. “Mass High Tech frequently reports on renewable energy developments in the New England tech community. However, we also recognize the need to intelligently manage our overall energy consumption in both the residential and commercial environments. We are honoring Robert because of his work in helping to position Ember as a driving force in energy management on a national level.”
Ember’s ZigBee networking systems – chips, software and development tools – simplify the complexity of integrating embedded software, networking and RF for developing low-power, wireless products in smart energy, connected home and other remote monitoring and control applications.
“I am honored to be named a 2010 Mass High Tech All-Star,” said LeFort. “In the New England technology community, Mass High Tech is known as a leading resource for industry news and for reporting on emerging technologies shaping the future. This honor is recognition of the Ember team which is providing a critical piece of technology that will enable utilities and consumers to be partners in energy management like never before.”
Ember received additional recognition this month from Connected World magazine, being named to the 2010 CW 100 – a list of the most innovative technology providers of M2M and connected devices. The listing will appear in the November issue.
