GlassHouse Technologies, a global provider of independent data center consulting and managed services, today announced that Rick Cameron, vice president of sales at GlassHouse Technologies, has been named as a finalist in the Vice President of Sales of the Year category in the fifth annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service.
The awards are presented by the Stevie® Awards, which organizes several of the world’s leading business awards shows including the prestigious American Business Awards.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners will be announced during a gala banquet on Monday, February 21 at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. Nominated customer service and sales executives from the U.S.A. and several other countries are expected to attend.
More than 800 entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted to this year’s competition, an increase of more than 60% over 2010. There are 25 categories for customer service professionals, including Contact Center of the Year, Award for Innovation in Customer Service, and Customer Service Department of the Year; as well as 40 categories for sales professionals, ranging from Global Sales Leader of the Year to Sales Training Program of the Year to Sales Department of the Year of the Year. New this year are categories to recognize new products and services and solution providers.

In addition, Derek Brawdy, services program manager at Xiotech, a partner of GlassHouse, has been named a finalist in the Customer Service Manager of the Year category. Derek has held his current role with Xiotech for more than three years. He is responsible for providing strategic direction on customer service initiatives and under his leadership, Xiotech transformed their customer support services to achieve greater visibility into customer issues, a proactive approach to solutions and higher customer satsifaction. Xiotech has been a GlassHouse partner since February 2010.

Members of the Awards’ Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors will select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging, to take place January 24 –
February 4. Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.
