GlassHouse Technologies, Inc, the leading provider of vendor-neutral enterprise storage services, announced today that it is expanding its operations and opening an office in New York City. The new location provides a regional base from which to serve a growing number of clients headquartered in the New York and tri-state area.
“We continue to see strong growth in our business as companies realize the importance of developing a strategic approach to enterprise data storage,” said Mark Shirman, CEO and President of Glasshouse Technologies. “The slowdown in the storage industry and the broader information technology market is forcing companies to use the resources they have effectively. Our methodology helps clients transform storage from a cost center into a strategic business advantage.”
“The GlassHouse approach offers a viable, valuable way to make the most of existing storage assets,” said Dan Tanner, Director of Storage Research at Aberdeen Group, a leading analyst firm. “The company’s expansion first into the Midwest, and now into the tri-state region, attests to their business model, and the fact that storage is finally getting the IT attention and respect it deserves.”
The New York City office, located at 95 Morton Street, houses sales management and technical consultants. Vincent Choinski, Glasshouse Technologies’ Director of Consulting Services, will lead the office. Mr. Choinski can be reached in New York at 212-905-3025.
In December 2002, GlassHouse announced the opening of its Midwest Regional office in Minneapolis, MN, and the launch of its Storage Interoperability Lab Services practice, an initiative managed from the Midwest office. The lab service offering provides GlassHouse clients with an opportunity to conduct proof-of-concept testing, validation and certification of storage solutions.
“Our customers come to us for unbiased, vendor-neutral perspective on storage technologies and best practices,” said Richard Scannell, Glasshouse Technologies Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy. “Because we do not sell hardware or software, we have the objectivity and credibility necessary to assist businesses as they assess and implement technologies and systems, solve problems, and optimize storage environments.”
