Team Virgin Mobile Yamaha and Enpocket are to launch an exclusive SMS club for fans of the 2003 British Superbike Championship, one of the fastest growing sports in the UK.
The Team Virgin Mobile Club will offer members chances to win “money can’t buy” prizes by entering premium SMS competitions. The contests, which coincide with race weekends, offer prizes such as personal riding tuition from Team Virgin Mobile riders Steve Hislop and Gary Mason, pillion rides around the track, signed memorabilia, grid walks and VIP hospitality / pit lane passes. The club will also offer a ‘race round-up alert’ and mid-week personal riding tips from the riders.
Fans from all UK networks can register to become club members by simply texting the word ‘JOIN’ to 07786 207444.
Rob McElnae, Team Virgin Mobile Yamaha Manager, said “We are very excited about our participation in the British Superbike Championship—especially as our team riders look set for a spectacular year. The use of SMS enables Team Virgin Mobile Yamaha not only to offer premium prizes that extend the sponsorship programme well beyond the race venues but also to deepen fans involvement and enjoyment of the Championship.”
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for Enpocket to be involved with British Superbikes, one of the fastest growing sports in the UK today,” said Richard Firminger, UK MD of Enpocket. “Team Virgin Mobile Yamaha are very much aware of the ability of SMS to strengthen the benefits of sponsorship—I think fans will be knocked out by the one-of-a-kind prizes the Club offers.”
The service will kick off on April 20th when British Superbikes opens its gates for the fourth round at Thruxton.
