Enpocket, the wireless media and technology solutions provider, and Premium TV (PTV), the UK’s leading provider of digital sports content, have partnered to offer mobile marketing campaigns to subscribers of PTV’s network of 80 UK football clubs.
PTV, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTL Europe, is the largest sports network in Europe and offers websites, streamed audio/video content, club-branded betting solutions and an advertising/e-commerce platform to the majority of the UK’s professional football clubs, including Newcastle United, Rangers and Aston Villa.
Richard Firminger, UK Managing Director of Enpocket, said: “This is an exciting win for Enpocket. The PTV network represents the single largest sports property in the UK and are the ideal partner for us to solve the key advertiser challenge: targeting the hard-to-reach yet highly lucrative 25-35 male ABC1 audience. Furthermore, the opportunity to reach this passionate audience in the highly personal and branded context of their favourite football team ensures a mobile marketing opportunity unmatched in the industry.”
Oliver Slipper, PTV’s Head of Media Services said: “It’s clear that Enpocket is building a considerable lead as the single largest UK purchase point for premium quality, branded mobile media. It made sense to go with the market leader to maximize our exposure to top 200 advertisers. I think marketers will find interesting opportunities in the combination of the PTV fan base with the time-sensitive capabilities of SMS to target, for example, Birmingham City fans at the end of a Premiership match with SMS coupons localised to the retail area around St Andrews.”
For Enpocket, the deal provides yet another building block in its “wireless customer lifecycle” framework by adding another premium channel that brands can use to acquire customers. Once acquired, Enpocket provides wireless solutions such as on-pack promotions and loyalty campaigns that enable the brand to solidify a deep relationship with its customers.
