Fox promotes Phone Booth thriller with twin-pronged SMS campaign through Enpocket

Enpocket, the leading provider of mobile marketing services, is delivering text activity on two fronts to promote the launch of 20th Century Fox’s new thriller Phone Booth, which goes on general release in cinemas across the country on April 18th.

Phone Booth follows a slick New York media consultant (Colin Farrell) who answers a ringing public phone only to find he is trapped by a serial killer with a sniper rifle who says he’ll be shot dead if he hangs up.

The promotion kicks off with an outbound SMS to the FoxTxt club inviting members to see it first and free at a special preview screening. Taking a detail from the movie, 30,000 matchbooks with a short code scribbled inside them are then to be distributed on 18 university campuses, offering opportunity to win one of five Motorola T720i MMS phones or a runners-up Phone Booth t-shirt.

Speaking of the campaign, Jonathon Linner, CEO of Enpocket, said: “This activity for Phone Booth is a great example of how mobile marketing can reach out on a personal level to attract and involve people in the subject matter of a new release.”

Clare MacIntosh, Fox’s marketing manager, said: “Phone Booth has a compelling plot well suited to promotion through mobile marketing. The intrigue created by this work through Enpocket will certainly help pull people to the movie.”
