Emap, the media group behind 70 top-selling UK consumer magazines (including FHM, Smash Hits and Heat) and 18 UK radio stations (including Kiss FM) has appointed Enpocket to sell media to advertisers across its major branded databases of readers and listeners who have opted in to receive 3rd party mobile marketing.
Richard Firminger, UK Managing Director of Enpocket, said: ‘We are delighted to have signed Emap. The Emap properties are some of the strongest in UK media, providing targeting of hard-to-reach audiences by category of interest in uniquely powerful branded contexts. So marketers can target, say, female youth with a personal cosmetics offer endorsed by Smash Hits or, for example, deliver timely promotion of a London club event to select Kiss100 listeners. And, as with all Enpocket Carrier Grade MediaTM, activity is independently audited by ABC Electronic and meets set standards for opt-in, permission holder identification and opt-out.’
Gillian Kennedy, Business Director of Mobile at Emap Advertising said: ‘Emap Advertising are keen to increase our customer interface through greater representation in the marketplace. We conducted a thorough review of the players in the mobile sector and it was clear that Enpocket had the strongest credentials, in terms of market strength and commitment to quality, for developing media sales for our premier media brands. We look forward to a long and productive relationship.’
For Enpocket, who specialise in providing wireless media and technology to help marketers develop successful mobile marketing solutions, the deal culminates a year in which they have built a convincing market lead with representation deals for O2, Lycos, Claritas and now Emap. Enpocket is the single largest UK purchase point for premium quality, branded mobile media.
