Colubris Networks InMotion MultiService Controller 5000 series

WLAN vendor Colubris Networks has unveiled its InMotion MSC 5000 series to unify wired and wireless networks. It features the Colubris TriPlane architecture, which provides distributed switching with centralized management and QoS (quality of service) control, security, Layer 2 and 3 roaming, autodiscovery and autoconfiguration. Voice over WLAN is also supported. The 1U MSC-5500, designed for large campus deployments, comes with Gigabit Ethernet ports and scales to 200 wireless APs (access points) serving thousands of users. The 1U MSC-5200, for small and remote offices, comes with 10/100 Ethernet ports and supports up to 25 wireless APs. MSC-5500, $15,999; MSC-5200, $4,799. Available in September.
