Colubris Networks, a leading provider of intelligent, multiservice WLAN systems, announced today that it was awarded the Mobile Product/Initiative of the Year award from CNET Networks UK Technology Awards Program. The awards recognize successful companies that have demonstrated innovation, application and excellence in technology and business over the last year. This award is the eighth major industry award Colubris has won in the last year – more than any other WLAN vendor.
Running for the third successive year, the awards program received over three hundred entries this year. Colubris received the award at CNET Networks UK’s spectacular gala dinner on September 27, 2005, held in association with the fifth annual Technology Summit, at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, London.
Colubris was honored for its pioneering work with Wi-Fi in the sky in conjunction with its customer, Connexion by Boeing, as well as its leadership market position in providing mobility solutions to the worldwide transportation industry. Other companies short listed in the Mobile Product/Initiative of the Year category included: Research In Motion, SpectraLink and Portwise.
