Northgate HR Opts for Blended Learning for 1800 Customers with New Wave Learning and OutStart

Northgate HR, the leading HR, payroll, flexible benefits and pensions provider, has chosen New Wave Learning and OutStart to create and deliver blended learning to its 1800 customers.   The new process, due to commence in April, will provide a win-win situation for customers and for Northgate HR.  The business will receive additional revenue stream by adding a service that customers require as they want to learn about new systems and upgrades in a more time and cost-efficient way.  The process also moves Northgate HR towards e-knowledge and full community collaboration.

Using OutStart SoftSim, Studio and Evolution LMS, Northgate HR will embed an e-learning platform that addresses 3 major areas of the training process; rapid content development, content storage and management plus training delivery.  SoftSim delivers interactive simulations for engaging e-learning; Studio enables teams to create, collaborate, manage and deploy e-learning, while Evolution LMS manages all learning administration.

Sarah Walker, Head of Training Services at Northgate HR explains; ”We have a range of public and private sector customers that have bought Northgate HR’s solutions on the basis of the business benefits they bring to their organisation. It is important that customers can use our solutions confidently to realise these benefits, and remain up to date with legislative changes and continual improvements to the core product. We wanted to offer our customers a cost effective way of providing training for their users on an ongoing basis. Following a full review of the market we opted for a blended approach by offering our existing class room training and now online courses through our partnership with New Wave Learning and OutStart”.

New Wave Learning and OutStart will support three Northgate HR training consultants to develop the first upgrade course on OutStart software, due for release in April.  To handle the new approach, Northgate HR will add a new online learning team next year to manage each of the different learning priorities, bringing together the ad hoc and formal training that customers receive.  Online learning will also support Northgate’s EMEA partner accreditation processes.

Colin Terry, MD of New Wave Learning, comments, “Northgate HR’s immediate need is to provide more flexibility and choice for customers through e-learning, however, we painted a bigger picture for them which they completely identify with.  We are using e-learning as a stepping stone to pave the way for Northgate HR’s communities to fully collaborate through e-knowledge.

“Customers, employees and partners will be able to use the new knowledge bank; where technology makes it possible for information to be captured from formal or ad hoc sources, say forums, emails, e-learning, training guides, presentations – and shared with every relevant audience”.

Peter Nicol, OutStart’s Managing Director, adds, “OutStart software is all about organisations efficiently and effectively capturing, managing, and sharing the knowledge with their employees, customers and partners.  We believe that Northgate HR will achieve tremendous benefits in being able to more effectively build, manage, track and deploy their customer training.  And they have selected an excellent partner in New Wave Learning to help them”.
