Incipient, Inc., a leading provider of storage virtualization and data migration software for Storage Area Network (SAN) environments, today announced continued momentum with record bookings and several new financial services customers in the first quarter of 2007. Incipient also expanded its management team with a new executive vice president of Worldwide Sales. Additionally, Incipient formed important new alliances with storage industry leaders HP and 3PAR® to continue penetrating the financial services sector with its flagship software product, Incipient Network Storage Platform™ (iNSP™).
In March, Incipient also announced partnerships with storage industry leaders HP and 3PAR. Both companies share a strategic interest in servicing the storage needs of the financial services market. Incipient joined the HP Information Lifecycle Management Partner Program and the iNSP software suite is now certified with HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Arrays. Additionally, Incipient and HP have formed a cooperative support agreement allowing iNSP to be installed in HP-supported SAN environments.
In addition, Incipient and 3PAR announced a partnership to deliver non-disruptive data migration and utility computing solutions to joint customers. The collaboration comes in response to heavy demand for highly scalable and cost effective Utility Storage with a particular urgency from financial services companies. With this partnership, Incipient has joined 3PAR’s Utility Computing partner program and self-certified iNSP with the 3PAR InServ® Storage Server family. Additionally, both companies have engaged in a cooperative support agreement.
Incipient’s go-to-market strategy for delivering enterprise-class solutions to the financial services sector drove the decision to appoint Peter T. McNamara to EVP of Worldwide Sales. McNamara is a seasoned sales executive with a history of success from companies such as Symantec and EMC. He is leading a team of storage sales professionals from the company’s office in the heart of the financial district in New York City.
Finally, Incipient closed the first quarter of 2007 with the following key accomplishments:
- Network World named iNSP software one of the “10 Best Products for Next-Generation Network Infrastructure.” Operating on the Cisco MDS 9000 SAN switch, iNSP delivers a suite of storage services software such as non-disruptive data migration, network volume management, and copy services. Network World editors and advisors selected the top ten products deemed to offer the most innovative solutions to simplify today’s “New Data Center.” To read more of Network World’s “Best of the New Data Center” series, visit here

With our expanded team, new partners and award-winning product, we are well positioned to exploit the growing market opportunity for our innovative storage virtualization and data migration solution,” said Ric Calvillo, co-founder and CEO of Incipient, Inc. “We look forward to further successes ahead and to the proliferation of storage virtualization technologies as an enabler of cost-effective storage services within heterogeneous SAN environments.”
