Vela Systems, a developer of mobile software that streamlines field administration for the AEC (Architecture-Engineering-Construction) industry, announced today that its board of directors has named Tim Curran as its CEO.
Curran most recently served as CEO of Eleven Technology, a leader in next generation handheld software applications for the consumer goods industry, which was acquired by Trimble Navigation Limited in 2006. During Curran’s three-year tenure as CEO of Eleven, revenues grew 80 percent annually and its customer base grew eight-fold.
Prior to Eleven, Tim spent five years as the executive vice president of sales at I-many, Inc., an enterprise contract management software company. During Curran’s tenure at I-many, the company grew from $6 million in sales to $60 million and held a successful IPO.
Curran was brought on board following the successful close of Vela Systems’ $6 million series A round of funding led by Commonwealth Capital Ventures and GrandBanks Capital.

With this foundation already in place, the prospects for rapid expansion are outstanding.”
