GlassHouse Technologies, Inc. and CA (NYSE:CA) today announced a partnership to help customers increase the value of their enterprise storage infrastructure investments and more effectively fulfill critical operational objectives.
The companies will work together to offer IT organizations a comprehensive storage management solution, that combines CA’s platform-agnostic software with GlassHouse’s proven services expertise.
Exploding volumes of data, increasing dependency on readily available historic and real-time data, and continuing regulatory demands are making it more difficult for large public and private sector organizations to fulfill their storage-related objectives.
“Large customers need outside help to implement proven best practices across the enterprise,” said James Hanley, CA’s senior vice president of worldwide partner sales. “Through this partnership, GlassHouse and CA can help customers unify and simplify the management of their entire storage infrastructure—so that they can focus their resources on more strategic IT initiatives.”
GlassHouse will provide CA customers with consulting services for mapping business strategy to infrastructure; assessment services for email archiving, storage management, disaster recovery and data protection initiatives; and design and implementation services for CA’s BrightStor Intelligent Storage Management solutions.
“As the complexity of enterprise storage management has grown, so have the consequences of not getting it right—such as unplanned expenditures, regulatory scrutiny and loss of shareholder confidence,” said Mark Shirman, president and CEO of GlassHouse. “By partnering with CA we can offer customers the independent consulting, solutions and expertise they need to avoid these consequences through optimized storage environments, reduced level of risk and improved service levels.
GlassHouse provides consulting and support services for storage best practices, storage management, and data protection. It serves more than 800 companies in the financial services, insurance, retail, media, biotechnology/pharmaceutical, telecommunications, government, legal, oil and gas, manufacturing, and technology industries. GlassHouse is a services company exclusively and not a reseller of hardware or software.
CA’s BrightStor Intelligent Storage Management solutions provide a foundation for simplifying the protection and management of business information and storage resources, enabling organizations to cost-effectively align storage assets with business priorities.
“CA is gaining access to GlassHouse’s complementary global storage services, while GlassHouse will benefit from access to CA’s worldwide customer base,” said Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. “By leveraging the combined services and software offered by CA and GlassHouse, these customers can more quickly and effectively implement storage best practices for cost reduction, compliance readiness, disaster recovery, email and message management and backup and recovery.”
The partnership will start in North America and will be rolled out in Europe in several months.
