Colubris Networks, a leader in intelligent, wireless LAN (WLAN) mobility systems, today announced the appointments of three new directors to serve its sharply expanding customer base and strategic partnership with Alcatel. The appointments reflect and support the market’s increasing demand for Colubris’ optimized WLAN switching solutions, which virtually eliminate network backbone congestion to more effectively support expanding user populations, business-critical data, always-on security and converged voice/content services.
The appointments include:
• Vice President of International Business, Rafael de Ory will work closely with strategic partner Alcatel and leverage his deep experience with Tier 1 / Tier 2 carriers in EMEA and Latin America. Rafael joins Colubris from Avici Systems, providers of high performance IP network infrastructure, where he served as EMEA Managing Director, and was previously EMEA Managing Director for Ciena Corporation. Previously, he spent more than 20 years with Alcatel; Rafael held a series of successively senior management and executive positions including Sr. Vice President, Latin America and Vice President of International Accounts. He holds an Industrial Engineering Degree from the Madrid Polytechnic School in Spain, and a Masters in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
• Managing Director of Asia-Pacific and Japan, Howard Kim brings more than 22 years of recognized success to Colubris in the Asia-Pacific and Japan regions. Howard was previously Chairman and CEO of Jay-Young Company, an IT investment and business development organization that established several leading US technology companies in the Asia-Pacific and Japan market. He previously served as Sycamore Networks’ Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific Market, and held executive sales and operations positions with Hypercom Network Systems, Cascade Communications (Lucent) and StrataCom (Cisco) and UNGERMANN-BASS. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
• Director of Transportation Solutions, Vincent Ma will work closely with global sales and engineering resources to further expand Colubris’ leadership in this performance-driven vertical industry. Vincent previously served as Colubris’ program director for life cycle management. He brings over 20 years of experience in the development of innovative wireless solutions with leading network equipment makers, including Accton and 3Com. He is a graduate of Napier College in Edinburgh, Scotland and holds a Bachelor of Science in communication and electronics engineering.
