Colubris Networks snapped up Kiwi Networks to boost its presence in the Wi-Fi and WiMAX space. The WLAN systems provider did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
Kiwi develops Wi-Fi and automated radio frequency planning and control products, which Colubris plans to integrate into its multiservice WLAN systems. The first integrated products are expected to hit the market during the fourth quarter. The combined entity plans to market its products to the enterprise sector.
The Kiwi team will continue to operate out of its Campbell, Calif., headquarters, which will now operate as the Colubris West Coast office. Kiwi’s co-founder Shimon Scherzer has been tapped to lead the engineering team in California. Colubris is based in Waltham, Mass.
Earlier this month, Colubris secured $15 million in financing, bringing its total funding purse to $36 million.
