Colubris Networks Posts Record Revenues in 2007 Fueled by Significant Customer Wins and Substantial Channel Growth

Colubris Networks, the leading global provider of intelligent wireless LANs (WLANs) for enterprises and service providers, today announced the company’s notable 2007 achievements, including closing its sixth consecutive quarter of record revenues, adding 134 resellers, achieving numerous customer wins across key verticals, making strategic additions to its management team and signing a worldwide distribution agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions. In addition, Colubris was positioned in Gartner, Inc.’s 2007 Wireless LAN Infrastructure Magic Quadrant , an evaluation of the market vendors based on completeness of vision and ability to execute.

“Industry analysts continue to recognize Colubris’ accelerating growth and excellent trajectory in the WLAN market. And, with our solution’s unique architecture, Colubris is ideally positioned to continue seizing market share in 2008 as organizations worldwide seek to deploy 802.11n,” said Tom Racca, vice president of marketing for Colubris. “The milestones we surpassed in 2007 are testament to the unwavering commitment of our staff, our vertical focus, the technological superiority of our solutions and the unique architecture we provide for a cost-effective, successful migration to 802.11n.”

“As 802.11n increases the reliability, predictability and performance of enterprise WLANs, it sets the stage for broader coverage, support for business-critical applications and increasingly turns the WLAN into a strategic IT investment,” said Daniel Corsetti, senior analyst, enterprise networks, IDC. “Colubris’ hybrid architecture and focus on key vertical markets should help them capitalize on the continued health of the WLAN market.”

Key milestones for Colubris Networks in 2007 included:

• Record annual revenues, a sixth consecutive quarter of record growth and accelerated year-over-year growth helped Colubris outpace the overall WLAN market.
• Continued geographic diversification with revenue split 48% in North America, 38% in EMEA and 14% in Asia/Pacific.
• Thousands of customers worldwide, including new engagements with City of Paris, University of the South, Palmer College of Chiropractic, Asan Medical Center, the country of Singapore, Alstom, Charles DeGaulle Airport and City of Luzern.
• A global distribution agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions, through which Avnet will offer Colubris’ complete portfolio of enterprise-class WLAN solutions.
• Key appointments to the executive management team, including Rob Scott as president and CEO, Peter Minihane as COO and CFO, Tom Racca as vice president of marketing, Gary Mead as vice president of international sales and Jerry Stabile as vice president of North America sales.
• Continued product innovation with the announcement of an enterprise-class 802.11n access point (MAP-625), making Colubris the only company to offer a centrally managed WLAN networking solution that enables migration from legacy standards to 802.11n without disruptive upgrades, architectural changes or additional peripheral equipment. Colubris also announced the tri-radio MAP-630 for dedicated, real-time RF security monitoring.
• Joined the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council and delivered the industry’s first WLAN solution for full PCI compliance without compromising network performance.
• Forged and expanded key partnerships with Nortel, Juniper, Alcatel and BAXL.

Colubris is the first and only WLAN solution to use distributed intelligence to optimize network performance, deliver multiple wireless applications and offer a smooth, cost-effective migration to 802.11n. Colubris’ distributed architecture consists of intelligent access points (APs) that forward traffic and enforce security and prioritization policies, and a centralized controller that manages and controls all the APs. Based on this architecture, wireless traffic travels through the LAN directly to its destination without taking a detour through the WLAN controller. This approach reduces latency and avoids bottlenecks that arise with competing WLAN solutions, particularly as they attempt to accommodate high-capacity wireless standards like 802.11n. With its unique architecture, Colubris is strongly positioned to continue gaining market share as companies adopt 802.11n.
