UCI Cinemas, Pepsi and Enpocket, the leading mobile marketing solutions provider, are using location targeting to invite football fans to the Pepsi free-kick Challenge that is currently taking place in UCI Multiplex cinema venues across the UK.
Using the Enpocket Engine, UCI is sending out SMS messages to invite football fans to hit the Pepsi free-kick target and earn a chance to win an all expenses paid trip to train alongside Real Madrid’s star striker Raul.
To coincide with the start of the football season, UCI and Pepsi are using mobile marketing targeted at 14-30 year olds who live in close proximity to UCI cinemas, in conjunction with regional radio advertising, in the 24 hours running up to each local Pepsi free kick Challenge.
“We felt that mobile was the only media that could instantly and accurately target the audience we were after, by age, interest and, most importantly, location. We are confident in Enpocket’s ability – it has experience of working with major brands and in increasing participation at exciting events like ours, targeted at particular demographics,” Lianne Butterfield, Marketing Manager, UCI Cinemas.
Enpocket has successfully delivered event-based mobile marketing programmes for consumer brands such as Nike and Reebok. The Pepsi free kick Challenge project also reflects Enpocket’s strength in the film and entertainment sector where it has delivered programmes ranging from reality TV interaction to mobile CRM for clients such as Fox, BBC, Turner, ABC, ESPN and HMV.
“The Enpocket Engine is increasingly being used as a tool for building affinity with customers and keeping them informed of time sensitive events. Developing an understanding of the mobile consumer and ensuring that communications are timely and relevant is enabling businesses like UCI to establish a direct relationship with consumers on their mobile device,” said Jonathon Linner, CEO, Enpocket.
The Pepsi free kick Challenge follows on from the successful work that Enpocket delivered for UCI earlier this year around Spiderman 2. UCI used mobile to give film fans a chance to win an all expenses paid trip to the premier of the summer blockbuster in London’s Leicester square.
