Enpocket appoints ex-Flytxt executive David Barker as VP Sales

Enpocket, the global mobile media company, has appointed David Barker VP Sales, Europe. Barker now heads up the European sales team and is responsible for managing revenue streams from Enpocket’s mobile community and mobile marketing products and services.

Barker joins from Flytxt, a mobile marketing company; where as Commercial Director he was a key member of the senior management team. Barker will help drive Enpocket’s success in providing integrated entertainment and marketing services to brands such as Vodafone, Fox and Match.com.

“It’s exciting to join a growing company with a range of battle-tested products and services that enable brands to engage and build a deeper dialogue with the mobile consumer. Enpocket has a reputation for pre-empting market trends and we’re particularly excited by the revenues that are already been generated by community services such as our dating product,” said Barker.

Prior to working at Flytxt, Barker was Commercial Director and a senior board director at the Covent Garden based web agency Hyperlink, and was a key member of the team that sold the business to Cable & Wireless in 2000. Before working for Hyperlink, Barker worked in Business Development at Teletext where he played an instrumental role in making the company a premiere destination on the web and on digital TV.

“Dave has a wealth of experience in managing successful sales teams and a broad understanding of how new and traditional media channels can work together to maximise the effectiveness of brand marketing spend,” said Peter Larsen, CEO, Enpocket.

Barker’s appointment will help to support Enpocket’s continued growth. Over the last two years Enpocket has built up an unrivalled delivery team that ensures the smooth operation of applications and products, and a marketing services team who conceive, create and deliver mobile marketing activities in line with the strategic goals of Enpocket’s mobile operator, media company and brand name customers.

In 2004 Enpocket joined forces with Landmat, a leading developer of mobile content and community applications, and Mobicus, who developed the core technology behind the Enpocket Engine, the World’s most widely used mobile marketing software.
