Enpocket, the leading mobile media solutions provider, today announced the appointment of Mike Baker as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Baker will be responsible for executing Enpocket’s operations and will work closely with Chief Executive Officer Jonathon Linner to direct the company’s strategy and further extend its leadership position. Mr. Baker will also serve on Enpocket’s Board of Directors.
“After being supportive as a board advisor and friend since the company’s inception, it is the right time to have Mike join the Enpocket team full time,” said Jonathon Linner, CEO of Enpocket. “As we prepare for an expansion over the next 18 months, Mike brings with him the experience of building successful media companies, as well as a deep understanding of the telecommunications industry ¾ a great addition to Enpocket’s leadership team.”
Mr. Baker joins Enpocket from GrandBanks Capital, a venture capital firm focused on investments in the wireless and information technology sectors. At GrandBanks, Mr. Baker was responsible for operating the investment management company, identifying new investment opportunities, and advising portfolio companies. Prior to joining GrandBanks Capital, Mr. Baker was Executive Vice President at Engage Technologies, Inc. where he led the corporate development, business development and legal departments through an IPO, the acquisition of nine companies at an aggregate value of over $3 billion, an aggressive international expansion, and a number of corporate investments, joint ventures and strategic alliances.
“Enpocket is in a terrific position to expand on its leadership in the growing mobile media space. The opportunity to join a strong team and leverage my operational experience in an emerging market that I believe in makes this a unique opportunity,” said Mike Baker, President and COO of Enpocket. “I’m looking forward to working more closely with Jonathon Linner and the executive team on a daily basis to help lead Enpocket to reach its potential.”
“Mike has more than 15 years of senior management experience in the media and telecommunications industry, and we are pleased to have someone of his caliber as part of our senior management team,” added Linner. “As Enpocket continues its growth plans, Mike will play a key role in developing and implementing the strategic plan. His appointment in this position is evidence of Enpocket’s commitment to remain one of the top mobile media companies, and we are extremely pleased to attract someone with Mike’s accomplished track record and leadership ability.”
