Evans Hotels Deploys Colubris’ Wireless Solutions at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in Time for Buick Invitational

Evans Hotels deployed Colubris through Safety NetAccess, a leading national high-tech solutions company that provides a broad range of technology products and services to its customers. With Colubris, guests at the Catamaran Resort Hotel, the Bahia Resort Hotel and the Lodge at Torrey Pines will all enjoy wireless Internet access in their rooms, conference areas and even outdoor pool and beach areas. The Lodge at Torrey Pines is the only AAA Five Diamond hotel property in San Diego and it is located on the 18th fairway of the famed Torrey Pines Golf Course, host of this week’s Buick Invitational and the 2008 U.S. Open that will be played in June. Prior to implementing Colubris, Evans Hotels wired its guest rooms for Internet access and provided wireless Internet access in its conference rooms on an ad hoc basis. However, its group sales department noted a high demand for ubiquitous wireless access across the properties. Through Safety NetAccess, Evans Hotels deployed Colubris MultiService Access Points (MAPs) across its three resorts so that guests could enjoy wireless access throughout all areas of the properties. “A large part of our sales strategy is to attract business meetings during the winter months, and wireless access is a must-have for these events. It’s a huge convenience for our guests to be able to access their business and personal applications from anywhere on our grounds,” said Eric Unruh, I.T.
