GlassHouse Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has won a contract for a second storage services engagement with The Aerospace Corporation, a not-for-profit corporation which works with the US government to develop space-related hardware and software. These engagements are for Aerospace’s Washington area office.
In its first engagement, GlassHouse delivered a Storage and Backup Assessment, providing a high-level architecture design for a proposed network attached storage (NAS) solution. The Backup Assessment validated the scalability of the client’s Legato backup environment and included suggestions to reconfigure the environment to optimize performance and document backup and restore policies and procedures.
As part of the new engagement, GlassHouse will further develop its original high-level NAS design, collecting and documenting the client’s requirements and creating a detailed architecture and design. In addition to meeting with prospective vendors to review potential solutions, GlassHouse will assist in the creation of an RFP and will be responsible for recommending the best technical and vendor solution to Aerospace.
Working with GlassHouse gave Aerospace the benefit of concentrated research into technical options and the ability to have a neutral third party evaluate multiple solutions, with GlassHouse experts focusing on the vendor selection process. “We are pleased to continue our relationship with Aerospace,” said Mark Shirman, CEO and President, GlassHouse. “What we are finding is that regardless of industry, clients are looking for a trusted advisor in building their storage infrastructures. The Aerospace folks have been great to work with and we look forward to providing their organization with long-term value.”
