GlassHouse Technologies Inc., the global leader in independent storage consulting and services, announced today the launch of a new line of business, Customer Support Services (CSS). CSS extends the service capability of established and emerging technology OEMs and vendors by providing enterprise class software, hardware and implementation support for storage and backup products.
“Through consulting and implementation work with our clients we have gained experience with storage and backup products from a number of vendors, and see an opportunity to help these vendors provide support to their end user clients,” said Mark Shirman, CEO and president, GlassHouse. “Since our June 2003 acquisition of Auspex’s Customer Support group, we have been providing comprehensive services to the Auspex customer base of NAS and SAN servers. Demand has increased to the point where it makes sense to formalize this organization,” Shirman added. “CSS can quickly step in to add capacity for organizations tasked with supporting new products or in new territories, with a favorable cost structure and high quality of service.”
GlassHouse Vice President of CSS Tom Ludden will lead the group, which in addition to supporting a global customer base of Auspex NAS and SAN hardware and software products, has closed deals with a number of emerging technology companies. CSS supports clients ranging from providers of primary storage to those developing clustering technology, disk backup storage, SAN management and tape virtualization software, switch and network products and associated OS and application software.
The CSS service portfolio is built on GlassHouse’s enterprise infrastructure, which includes 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year remote technical call center support, remote monitoring, global field service, logistics and distribution services, and a full suite of implementation and consulting services. Services are modular, allowing vendors to choose levels of service to meet their customer support needs. CSS personnel and resources are located in North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
“The Customer Support Services group has extensive experience maintaining and supporting Auspex NAS and SAN servers in use worldwide,” said Tom Ludden, vice president of CSS. “CSS clients leverage our infrastructure, allowing these emerging technology companies to provide global, best in class support as they enter the market, at a fraction of the cost it would take to build this capability internally,” Ludden continued. “Established technology companies have the advantage of leveraging a global support organization with a core skill set focused on storage and backup, complementing the strengths of their internal support teams and accelerating geographic growth.”
