GlassHouse Technologies, a global data center consulting and managed services firm, today announced that Citrix Systems, Inc., a leading provider of virtual computing solutions that help companies deliver IT as an on-demand service, has made a strategic investment in the company. This investment expands the existing relationship between the two companies with Citrix becoming a premier desktop virtualization partner of GlassHouse Technologies. This equity investment provides Citrix with an observer’s seat on the GlassHouse board of directors. This expanded relationship does not alter GlassHouse’s existing business model as a vendor-independent consulting firm.
“We are focused on providing customers enhanced flexibility in their IT environments while mitigating risk and managing costs effectively.”
“Citrix is leading the transformation of the data center into a virtualized and flexible environment. By investing in companies such as GlassHouse, which offers experienced consultants and proprietary intellectual property, we are helping to drive greater IT efficiencies for our mutual customers so they may more fully realize the business benefits of virtual computing,” said Andy Cohen, senior director of strategic development at Citrix.
“As our top premier partner in virtualization technologies, Citrix allows us to continue to better serve our customers. We are excited about deepening our relationship with Citrix, and the opportunities this partnership can bring to both of our customers,” said Mark Shirman, CEO of GlassHouse. “We are focused on providing customers enhanced flexibility in their IT environments while mitigating risk and managing costs effectively.
