Quarterscope Solutions, a new provider of Wi-Fi based location networks, today announced that uLocate Communications Inc, a leading provider of wireless location services, will leverage Quarterscope’s Wi-Fi Positioning Service (WPS) to provide precise location information for its solutions.
The Wi-Fi Positioning Service from Quarterscope Solutions is the first outdoor positioning system to leverage the growth of Wi-Fi (802.11). Designed for the millions of laptop, Tablet PC and PDA devices that have Wi-Fi capabilities, WPS enables users to take full advantage of mapping applications and other location-based services using their existing hardware. In addition, software applications designed to use other location technology, such as GPS, can integrate with WPS to generate driving directions, communicate location information, utilize proximity systems and implement vehicle/asset tracking.
uLocate is focused on the development of wireless services that deliver dynamic, personalized location driven information to subscribers via a secure connection to their wireless devices.
