U.S. Navy Signs Enterprise License Agreement with OutStart

OutStart, the leading provider of software solutions for learning and knowledge-sharing, announced they have entered into an enterprise license agreement with the U.S. Navy. The Naval Education Training Command (NETC) is actively using OutStart Evolution LCMS (Learning Content Management System) for key training initiatives both land based and in disconnected environments aboard ships and submarines.

As part of the “Revolution in Training” initiative OutStart solutions have helped the Navy to:

  • Leverage prescriptive learning to make a significant impact in reducing the number of training hours required per Sailor. Now, Sailors can graduate with the same knowledge in as little as 38 days versus 106. This reflects a 45% reduction in training time and 65% reduction of actual in-class training time providing an overall saving to the Navy of $7,000 per Sailor ($8-$10 million total) without sacrificing quality.
  • Save approximately $5 million by reducing course development time by 50% using Evolution LCMS to create Sharable Content Objects which can be assembled and reused dynamically across different courses rather than building each course separately.
