Vivox Inc. today announced Release 1.5 of its Precision Studio™ platform, strengthening the Company’s leadership in integrated voice communications for online games.
“This update was designed and built based on input from our customers, the developers of online games,” noted Monty Sharma, vice president of product marketing and management. “It will allow developers to make voice more immersive, improve security and control, and enhance their players’ in-world experiences. Our product development goal is to stay on the cutting edge of communications tools that power safer and more immersive games.”
Leveraging the richness of the Precision Studio architecture, Release 1.5 extends the performance of Vivox integrated communications with:
- Voice Recording: Release 1.5 includes APIs that allow active audio channels to be recorded on demand. This new feature improves user security by deterring anti-social behavior and documenting such behavior for subsequent action when warranted.
- Voice Fonts: This feature allows game developers to create voice modifications that are custom tailored to physiological and environmental inputs that are unique to their world. These inputs create voice alterations to match a player’s race, species, size, or simply to add an effect, such as a dungeon echo or simulated static from a radio or space communication system.
- Customer Administration Portal: Our custom web interface now provides real-time access to usage data in order to effectively monitor and manage user activity.
- Mac Client: Precision Studio now supports OSX 10.4 or higher.
- Enhanced Channel Management: Precision Studio 1.5 offers several new channel features:
- Stealth Monitoring
Game Masters (GMs) may now covertly monitor voice chat in real-time to ensure a positive player experience for all levels. - Channel Security
Vivox has added additional support functionality with which to control access to channels from within a game or from an out-of-game client including an upgraded Access Control List (ACL) to permit access to defined channels for designated players, and password protection. This provides developers and players with more options to ensure security.
- Stealth Monitoring
- Enhanced User Self-Support Tools: Release 1.5 includes automated diagnostic and troubleshooting tools that provide solutions to infrequent user problems, minimizing the impact on customer support resources.
